Pedigree Hampshire Downs

The Breed...

The Hampshire Down is a traditional native and respected  breed  Established on the South Downs in Hampshire over many years. The Hampshire Down Sheep Breeders’ Association was  formed in 1889 and will be celebrating 125 years anniversary in October 2014.

The ‘Hamp’ has many fine natural attributes:

Jean and Geoff Boyles are situated on the North Devon/Mid Devon border farming 43 acres. Jean, having run a commercial flock for a number of years, started a pedigree Hampshire Down flock with Geoff in 2000. Initially with three in-lamb ewes and an unrelated lamb ram she has grown the business to the current level of 40 selected ewes and 4 stock rams.

They show in their local area but are mainly concerned with breeding commercial rams as terminals sires.

We are Signet referenced, MV Accredited and Scrapie monitored.

Won the overall National flock competition in 2008 and were Reserve champion in 2012.
